About the Artist:
Skye Parrott grew up in Hoboken, NJ, went to high school in Brooklyn, and studied Political Science at UCLA before changing directions to pursue a creative career in Paris. She has worked as Managing Editor at Self Service, as Global Studio Manager for the artist Nan Goldin, and as a photographer and director for numerous editorial and advertising clients.
Alongside her commercial career, Skye has collaborated on several photo projects with the artist Robert Longo, worked with David Armstrong on the first edit for his book Night and Day, and has curated a number of photography exhibitions, including “Younger Than I’ll Be” at The Brooklyn Academy of Music, which looked at the experience and freedoms of youth in New York City.
Skye co-founded and was Creative Director of Dossier, the seminal arts and fashion magazine. Dossier was known as a platform that championed young creatives and helped to launch the careers of numerous photographers, fashion designers, and artists.
As a creative and editorial consultant, Skye works with a range of independent and global clients on print and digital publications, content initiatives, and experiential activations.
Skye was Editor-in-Chief for the 2020 relaunch of the iconic, feminist publication Playgirl Magazine. Her most recent engagement is leading an editorial team as Editorial Director, Special Projects at T Brand, The New York Times’ branded content studio.
She lives between New York City and Sayulita, Mexico, where she serves on the Board of Directors of Colegio Costa Verde, a progressive green school.
